Excellent bag!
This bag is no joke. It does everything I want it to and more. While it is a little on the pricey side for a backpack, I'd say it's worth it due to it's enormous amount of storage and great, solid feel on my back. If you like the style of the bag, without a doubt this is probably the best one I've ever had.In the first and most important part for me, space, this bag excels. I can put my large G73 laptop (17", but with a relatively large form-factor for 17" laptops) along with my Traktor S4, a few smaller controllers, a Komplete Audio 6, my Crane laptop stand, and my headphones in the main pocket alone, which uses foamy dividers to ensure nothing has a chance of getting even scratched and also allowing you to make custom compartments for your stuff. Specifically, a Traktor S4 fits pretty much perfectly in the main compartment, so think of the compartment as being 3-3.5 times as thick as an S4, and slightly wider and longer than one. The outer pockets are also huge, capable of fitting a huge amount of things, from cables to more controllers and headphones or whatever you'd like. Because it's so large, you pretty much can put anything you want so long as it is smaller in length and width than the already large S4.The construction of the backpack is really good. The buckles, handle, and loose things like the shoulder strap are held together by solid feeling metal. The zippers feel very solid, the straps are attached firmly and I have no qualms that it will ever break like other, cheaper backpacks. I've been using it fairly roughly and there's no sign of damage at all. Finally, it feels great to wear. Even with a lot of weight on your back it hugs you securely and doesn't feel painful at all. The shoulder straps when using it as a backpack are very well padded and distribute weight evenly throughout your body, making it a pleasurable experience. I haven't used the shoulder strap much though since it is very large and that may feel awkward, but it's nice to have if you're just moving the backpack a short distance or not carrying it totally full. The handle is also decent--it doesn't hurt your hand at all.Overall I'd say this is probably the best backpack I've ever used. It is very large, though, so I only use it when going to DJ gigs. That being said, it's totally worth it and I feel safe that I can protect all my gear and always have everything I could possibly need with me. Great job, Magma!

If you need a huge + solid backpack to hold a ton of gear, this more than does the trick.
Never really thought I'd blow over $150 on a semi-ugly backpack for its functionality, but when I found myself with a Pioneer DJM-2000 (16.1 x 16.9 x 4.3 β almost as big as they come, basically) and a hectic Mardi Gras schedule, getting myself a huge + serious DJ bag became non-optional.Aside from its huge size, what really sets this bag apart is the detachable dividers. They're a little annoying when you have to reconfigure them, but that's a fair trade-off for how sturdy they are. I basically don't hesitate to trust that they'll keep my DJM-2000 safe, while also allowing me to slide my laptop + a laptop stand in the main compartment as well.I keep some fairly large and inflexible headphones in the front outside pocket, along with all the cables I could ever want. But while the front outside pocket is pretty generous, I do wish the side pockets were a teeny bit larger. I have to really work to cram two 20-foot XLRs in them. That being said, the bottom line is this bag has room for days. The backpack feels very sturdy and comfy on my back. The zippers are huge and solid, really doubt they fail me any time soon.I don't really find the smell very offensive at all, afraid that reviewer was being dramatic.People will tell you to always use a hard case for your nice mixers no matter what, but that just wasn't a realistic option for the way I find myself rushing to gigs. So if you want to go with a soft case and have a large mixer, this is really an extremely good option.

Everything fits fine but this bag stinks!!! Literally...
Let me start by saying that this bag works great.... everything fits fine. I have an MPK25, a MOTU Traveler, 17in MacBook Pro, a MyBook external hard drive, Sennheiser DT770s, wireless mouse, iPod and all the cables and power supplies I need to hook everything up. I still have room for some mics and a few other small items as well. Now the bad thing about the bag is the manufacturing consistency... I actually have two of these bags and they were not built the same, however, they do SMELL the same. I don't know if its the glue/adhesive they use during manufacturing or the people assembling the bags by hand in a 110 degree warehouse with buckets of sweat dripping all over the fabric used. Really, its that bad. It was so bad I thought that someone had used the bag for months before me, trekking through the subways of NYC, leaving his or her B.O. on it before returning it to the store. Perhaps it got wet during transport and dried in the warm dark shipping container... Who knows where the odor came from. Febreze did not work. Thats the reason I have 2 bags. I thought the first bag I bought from an amazon retailer was just stinky because the store or warehouse it came from smelled bad, so I ordered another one from Amazon so I could return the first one. Well when the bag arrived I opened up the box and there was that smell again...If it were not for the smell this bag is perfect!I wonder if the other buyers had an odor that came with their bags....

Great buy for DJ gear!
I just got my backpack, and it's perfect! I have a lot of equipment to lug as a DJ, and it fits damn near everything. I have a Mixtrack Pro 2, Behringer 12 channel mixer, 15" laptop, Shure wireless mic and receiver, Audio Technica headphones, and it all fit! The only thing that I couldn't get in there was my laptop stand(which is a b*tch to take apart anyway) and speakers/stands. Definitely worth it to protect your gear!

Quality construction--well designed
Magna Multi-purpose Studio/gig bag 25 is designed to carry enough gear for a mobile studio DJ set-up. The dimensions are ample enough to fit 25 key controllers, I use Novation 25 SL MK II. Main storage area has three divisions for laptop, controller, and interface. Main pocket and front pocket also have removable dividers for storage customization. The bag has a sturdy shell for extra protection, and there are ample side pockets for small odds and ends. mz

Bass Guitar Class D Amp Bag Plus More....
I'm a Bass Player.Having looked around at many bags for all my gear, including Mono, I lighted on this. Was immediately drawn to the design, spec and space on offer for the money involved. Read numerous reviews, video demos and decided to take the plunge. Was it worth it, oh yes!!I can get my two hercules mini guitar stands in the main section, along with my class d bass amp (genz benz streamliner 900), in front of that all my cables, side pocket holds my zoom b3 effects unit, big front pocket holds strings, kettles leads, another small pocket at the top holds tools, picks etc, which still leaves me a spare side pocket. So that's most of my road gear in one bag, wow. Now, with all that in it's quite heavy, not uncomfortably so.Haven't actually been on the road with it loaded yet. Unsure as to whether the backpack straps, or shoulder handles will hold the weight I have in it, but carrying it around the house by the top handle didn't seem to cause much stressing. It feels well built and authoritative, the materials are lovely feeling, feels well on your back, shoulder or hand carrying all in all a great piece of kit.Has plenty of dividers in the main compartment to line up with the gear you want to put in, but they are a bit fiddly being velcro, but a nice option to have as everyone's kit is different.I know this is primarily aimed at the DJ market, but it makes a brilliant guitarists companion and i don't anticipate buying another gear bag again. For Bassists with Class D amps I think this is ideal.

Great size, and very good padding
Great size, and very good padding. Holds laptop, sound card, push 2 and power supplies well. The backpack style strap has started to break down the middle after the bag was thrown over one arm repeatedly though (hence the star off).
