Comet GP-9N Dual-Band Base Antenna 2m/70cm 144/440 MHz
I Have had my Comet GP-9N for about 3 years now & i Got to Say It Is a Great Antenna It Blows Most Others Out of The Water IMHO ! I Also Have Very High Quality Coax & Connectors (Very Important) it is up About 40Ft & i Regularly hear Others at and Over 100 Miles on Simplex (The 520) & Even Get Into a Fuw Repeaters n The Surrounding States a Lot Of Times! I Have ben into Radios for Close To 40 Years now & One Thing I Know as Fact..Any Good Station Has To Start With Really Good Antenna & Coax Then Get It N The Air As High as Ya Can Because Hight=Might Always Has & Always Will No Mater What Any One Else Says..Then an Only Then Figure Out The Radio Ya Want! Just a fyi..The Diamond X510HDM Is The Direct Comparison to This Comet GP-9N Both Are The Best Verticals Money Can Buy IMHO.. Again You Must Use Really Good Coax Not The Junk Ya Get On Here Or The Knock Off LMR-400 In My Experience About 99.99% of The Coax On Here Is Trash So Do Your Research & Buy The Best You Can Get/Afford And You To Will Be Very Pleased With The GP-9N Or The Diamond X510HDM Either One !
